We have been working closely with colleagues in NHS Highland to improve the opportunities for people who have had a cardiac event to receive cardiac rehabilitation in leisure facilities. A number of HLH team members have been trained to become specialist exercise Level 4 Cardiac Rehabilitation Exercise Instructors to support people into exercise following a cardiac event.
A referral from a health care professional is required for these activity classes – more information is available by emailing [email protected].
We offer six classes per week in leisure facilities across Highland as well as an online class, and these take place at:
- Aviemore Community Centre – Mondays (10:30-11:30)
- Dingwall Leisure Centre – Mondays (10:30-12:00)
- Invergordon Leisure Centre – Mondays (15:00-16:00)
- Inverness Leisure – Thursdays & Fridays (10:00-12:00)
- Thurso Leisure Centre – Wednesdays (11:00-12:00)
- Online – Tuesdays (11:00-13:00)
The online class allows participants to take part in the comfort of their own home – participants require a tablet, smartphone or computer with camera to take part.
